American bi-coastal collaboration Moth Wranglers (NYC resident Chris Xefos, ex King Missile; and SF resident LD Beghtol, ex Flare, sometime-singer with Magnetic Fields) released their debut full length early October on San Francisco indie label Magnetic Motorworks. Ironically titled Never Mind The Context, the all-over-the-musical-map disc includes contributions by Stephen Merrit (Magnetic Fields), Victor Krummenacher and Jonathon Segal (both ex-Camper Van Beethoven & founders of Magnetic Motorworks), Ken Stringfellow (The Posies, R.E.M., Big Star, and solo), and many others.
Now Moth Wranglers are set to perform their first show in New York in more than two years. Their Never Mind The Context record release party takes place Sunday, 25 November at Tonic. A one-off matchup between Jon De Rosa (Flare, Aarktica, Dead Leaves Rising) and Marc Gartman (City Of Glass, block:gartman, The Bible Belt) will open. Call (+1) 212-358-7503 for more information. | Moth Wranglers | | CD from Mother West | | Magnetic Motorworks | | top of page |
