Preston School Of Industry, the new band founded last year by former Pavement guitarist Scott Kannberg aka Spiral Stairs, has announced dates for a one week UK tour starting 8 June at The Point in Oxford.
They’ll warm up with a gig at Chicago’s Metro tomorrow night as part of the second annual Noise Pop Festival held in the Windy City (Noise Pop is in its 9th year in its home city of San Francisco), supporting reunited New York New Wave legends Television.
PSOI’s debut release, a CD-EP/10" titled Goodbye To The Edge City, is now set for an 11 June US release date on Kannberg’s own Amazing Grease Records. The band’s debut LP will be titled All This Sounds Gas. It’s due the last week of August on Matador in the US and on Domino in the UK—both are Pavement’s old labels, as well as the current US/UK labels for ex-Pavement front man Stephen Malkmus and his new band The Jicks.
