The Beta Band LP details, US tour with Radiohead
7 May 2001

Glasgow pop-chimeras The Beta Band have announced details for their forthcoming album, forecast in an NME interview last year by front man Steve Mason to be “...one of the greatest LPs of all time.” Titled Hot Shots II, the band’s second full length is due in the UK on 2 July and in the US on 16 July.
Tracks are Squares, Al Sharp, Humanbeing, Gone, Dragon, Broke, Quiet, Alleged, Life, and Eclipse. The first UK single will be the opening track Squares, with the B-side the non-album track and live favorite One—renamed for the disc to Won to avoid a copyright issue. Won is developed around a sample of the Harry Nilsson song One, with vocals by New York city rap artist Sean Reveron.
The Beta Band have also announced that they will open on all dates for the upcoming Radiohead tour of North America, which (subject to change) starts 18 June in Spring, Texas. There are only seven North American dates confirmed so far. | The Beta Band | | The Beta Band on Astralwerks | | Tour dates (for Radiohead) | | discography | | sample | | top of page |
