Spoon to tour Belgium, Holland leading to Dour Festival 29 May 2001
Austin post-punk trio Spoon are one of more than 200 bands set to play the four day, 13th annual Dour Music Festival in Dour, Belgium (5-8 July). Leading up to their festival date they’ll play a week of shows throughout Holland and Belgium. Spoon released their remarkable third album Girls Can Tell this past February on US indie label Merge Records, having been rather viciously dropped three years ago by Elektra. Some of the other bands playing Dour this year are Add N To X, Afrika Bambaataa, Blonde Redhead, The Damned, The Dickies, Dilated Peoples, Ec8or, Alec Empire, Experimental Pop Band, Four Tet, Gonzales, Iggy Pop, Jon Spencer Blues Explosion, Ladytron, Live Human, Lowgold, Modest Mouse, Nashville Pussy, The Orb, Peaches, Run DMC, SNFU, Snow Patrol, Therapy?, The Young Gods, and Zen Guerilla.
