The Breeders recording comeback album (at long last)
25 May 2001

This past December, Pixies spin-off band The Breeders staged a highly publicized 'secret' reunion show at LA’s Hot Pants club. Since then they’ve played live a few more times in and around Los Angeles. Reports are that the shows keep getting better.
According to Sash Hedrick, promoter for Hot Pants, the band have now started recording their long-hyped comeback album—which will follow Last Splash by about eight years. They entered Steve Albini’s recording studio in Chicago in mid May, and are apparently continuing sessions into June.
UK indie label 4AD has been saying for months that they were hoping for a new Breeders album this year, but could not predict if or when front woman Kim Deal would choose to start recording. As of press time the label had not updated their site regarding recent events.
