Witness needs part-time office manager in NYC 18 May 2001 New York based human rights organization Witness, founded in 1992 by former Genesis vocalist Peter Gabriel, provides video equipment to activists worldwide to help them expose violations and attrocities. To date theyve distributed cameras to more than 150 human rights groups in 47 countries, and have worked with them to distribute the collected footage online and to the media. Over the past decade theyve been associated with The Lawyers Committee for Human Rights, but as of 1 June Witness is moving offices and becomes an independent organization. They have an immediate opening for a part time office manager to work in their new office at 353 Broadway. In addition to typical receptionist, filing, and phone duties, the position includes activity scheduling, computer system troubleshooting, and preparation of materials for the media.
