The Butchies ready '3', announce US tour dates
8 March 2001
image
Durham, North Carolina lesbopunk-pop trio The Butchies hit the road for a quick 20 date US tour toward the end of the month in support of their forthcoming album, 3, the follow-up to last year’s Population 1975. First, though, they’ll play the upcoming South By Southwest mega-festival in Austin on the 17th.
On all dates—including SXSW and the Southern Womyn’s Music Festival on the 31st—The Butchies are opening for Amy Ray (of Indigo Girls), as well as serving as her backup band. By the way, they played on Ray’s powerful solo debut Stag, released last week on Daemon Records.
This summer Ray and The Butchies will launch a major US tour with Le Tigre—we’ll provide dates when we get them.
If you just can’t wait, The Butchies have thoughfully provided a free, full length MP3 file of their song Anything Anthology off the new album, available on their official Web site. Check our direct link.
