Ween start brief US tour this month; side project news

New Jersey pop anomalies Ween (the duo of Dean and Gene Ween, aka Mickey Melchiondo and Aaron Freeman) are pop enough to have been hired by the US Fox television network to provide the theme and incidental music for new show Grounded For Life, and subversive enough to be enlisted by former Public Image Limited drummer Martin Atkins to participate in his Pigface project (see our Best Of Pigface review from earlier this week).
    Later this month Ween start a brief, mostly east coast US tour, their first since their global White Pepper tour last year supporting the album of the same name.
    Meanwhile, Dean and Gene have started work with Eye Yamatsuka and Yoshimi of The Boredoms on the second album from their collaboration known as Z Rock Hawaii, to be released this year on Ipecac Records (founded by Faith No More/Mr. Bungle’s Mike Patton) and to be available through the official Ween site.
