I Am Spoonbender announce rare North American tour
7 March 2001

San Francisco experimental synthpop act I Am Spoonbender launch a rare tour on Sunday with a show at Spaceland in Los Angeles. They’ve scheduled twenty dates across the US (plus a stop in Toronto) running through early April.
The band—new member Chad Amory along with Dustin Donaldson (drums, synths, vocals) Cup (synths, vocals), Brian Jackson (bass, synths), and Marc Kate (synths)—plan to tour Europe, Japan, and Australia later this year. They are also working on new material for the followup to their 1999 debut Sender/Receiver. The new stuff, they say, is “...much more voice oriented than in the past, giving way to a strong 'hypnotic, synthetic pop' feel.”
