Carlos (the band) fourth album set for April
26 March 2001

San Francisco bay area guitar rockers Carlos, who formed ten years ago in Millbrae, California, have finished recording their fourth album. Titled Devil’s Slide, Amazing Grease Records (founded by Pavement’s Scott Kannberg) release it on 13 April; the somewhat odd date was chosen for the mildly twisted reason that it is both Good Friday and the millenium’s first Friday the 13th.
Self-produced, Devil’s Slide was recorded and mixed by John Croslin (GBV, Spoon, Pavement) and follows Carlos’ 1997 album Bigger Teeth. The track listing is Heavy Metal Monday, Always On My Side, True Blues, Quit Your Job, Dizzy Dizzy, Psalm, Foggy Ruin, Never Going Back, Papa Star, Ali The Clown, Pan Electric, and Maggie Lies.
Carlos play a record release party at San Francisco’s Bottom Of The Hill on 13 April along with John Vanderslice and Moore Brothers. Amazing Grease has posted full-length MP3 versions of album tracks Quit Your Job and Foggy Ruin. You can pre-order Devil’s Slide now from the label Web site. | Carlos | | Amazing Grease Records | | Quit Your Job (full length MP3) | | Foggy Ruin (full length MP3) | | discography | | top of page |
