Bolton-raised, Manchester-based singer/composer Damon Gough aka Badly Drawn Boy (his debut album won the ultra-prestigious 2000 Mercury Music Prize, and he recently picked up Best New Artist at the 2001 NME Brats awards) continues a European tour tonight at Vega Musikkenshus in Copenhagen, running through a 7 April show at the Apollo in Manchester. Then on 26 April he starts his second North American tour, hitting 16 cities in Canada and the US.
The new father (Gough’s girlfriend Claire Hewitt gave birth to a baby girl in December) has just announced some details for the third single off his outstanding LP The Hour Of Bewilderbeast. It will be the track Pissing In The Wind, available 30 April in the UK through XL Recordings. The disc will include a re-recording of the song for its 'A' side, while the 'B' side has remixes by Minotaur Shock and by Lemon Jelly.
67 year old London-born actress Joan Collins, best known for her role in the ’80s US TV series Dynasty, will appear in the upcoming video for Pissing In The Wind, receiving a rumored five-figure stipend for her work. | Badly Drawn Boy | | tour dates | | XL Recordings | | bio | | discography | | sample | | CD | | top of page |
