For Stars US mini-tour, 3rd album details

San Francisco experimental slo-pop quintet For Stars will stage a brief west coast US tour starting 24 March at Old Ironsides in Sacramento, California. They’ll be playing tracks from their third album, We Are All Beautiful People, due May on Future Farmer Records.
    Front man Carlos Forster recently said of the new set “We used some louder ideas and added a little extra noise. It’s not as sparse as some of our earlier stuff, but it’s not a huge, loud fast record, either.” Asked about where For Stars’ music finds points of reference, Forster said “I don’t really understand rock music. It’s pretty heavy on the guy attitude. I’m trying to get beyond conventional ideas of rock and pop and make something beautiful.”
    You can get MP3 clips of tracks from their 1998 self-titled debut and from 1999’s Windows For Stars, as well as a few downloadable videos, from the band’s Web site.
