Fuck to release rarities CD, embark on farewell tour?

Scattered (Oakland/New York city/San Francisco/Memphis) musical subversives Fuck—Tim Prudhomme, Ted Ellison, Kyle Statham, and Geoff Soule—signed with the Sonic Youth Records imprint Smells Like Records last year, and last month released their fifth album. Titled Cupid’s Cactus, it is their first since 1998’s Conduct. Recorded in San Francisco and Memphis, the set runs a mere 35 minutes but offers up 15 songs.
    On 1 April they will release a 1,000 copy, limited edition enhanced CD titled Gold Bricks containing an hour of rare and previously unreleased material recorded 1993-2000. Gold Brick also contains two Fuck videos: Like You and Monkey Doll. It will be released by Insound in North America and by Italian imprint Homesleep in the UK and Europe, with copies likely to be available during shows.
    This past Saturday Fuck launched their (perhaps) farewell tour. They’ll be hitting 32 cities across the US and Canada, with their last show ever (they say) at San Francisco’s Bottom Of The Hill on 14 April. Then again, the band plan to tour Europe in May and June. In any case, we suggest you buy your tickets now... you will not thank yourself for missing this one.
