Manchester techno/dance quartet New Order, the phoenix which rose from the ashes of Joy Division following the suicide death of singer Ian Curtis in 1980, reunited three years ago after a five year absence, playing a series of UK gigs and recording a Peel Sessions broadcast on 30 December 1998 for the BBC. At the time they announced plans for a new album, which have now come to fruition.
New Order’s new album will be titled NEWORDERGETREADY and will tentatively see the light of day in mid October worldwide on Warner/Reprise. All four original members play on the set: Bernard Sumner on vocals and guitar, Peter Hook on bass, Stephen Morris on drums, and Gillian Gilbert on keyboards. Guests will include Billy Corgan (former front man for Smashing Pumpkins) and members of Primal Scream.
The band have also announced a series of live performances for this summer, starting with the two day Fuji Rock Festival in Naeba, Japan on 28 July along with At The Drive In, Echo & The Bunnymen, Hothouse Flowers, Manic Street Preachers, Oasis, Stereophonics, and others. New Order continue on a co-headlining North American tour with Moby into August. Here are their dates so far

28 - Naeba, Japan (Fuji Rock Festival)
31 - Mountain View, CA (Shoreline Amphitheatre)

August
2 - Vancouver, BC (Thunderbird Stadium)
3 - Seattle, WA (The Gorge)
