London folk/pop trio Hefner (Darren Hayman on vocals and guitar, Antony Harding on drums and vocals, John Morrison on bass), who released their third proper album We Love The City last fall, have signed on to play the Isladencanta Festival on the Catalan-speaking Mediterranean island of Majorca in early July.
More than 30 artists will play the festival, including Gorky’s Zygotic Mynci, David Holmes, The Jon Spencer Blues Explosion, Le Hammond Inferno, Six By Seven, and Stereolab. Tickets are available now online from BBV (the site is in Spanish) for the 6-8 July event.
Hefner also play England’s Reading/Leeds festivals toward the end of August, while Hayman’s side project Stereo Morphofonium plays a one-off at London’s RoTa Club at the Notting Hill Arts Center on 9 June.
Meanwhile, Hefner have finished recording their fourth album, to appear late summer/early fall on Too Pure, and to be titled Dead Media. A first single, title not yet revealed, will come out in advance sometime in the next couple of months. | Hefner on Too Pure | | Hefner fan site | | Isladencanta Festival | | Hymn For The Cigarettes (full length RealAudio 56K) | | bio | | discography | | top of page |
