Young Welsh new-psychedelicists Gorky’s Zygotic Mynci have finished recording their seventh album, to be titled How I Long To Feel That Summer. The new LP, featuring new drummer Peter Richardson and produced by Gorwel Owen, will be released this September on Mantra Recordings/Beggars Banquet Records. Richardson replaced founding member Euros Rowlands, who left the band in August.
Having played a series of UK gigs last month, on 11 July GZM will preview songs from the new LP during a performance at New York city’s Bowery Ballroom. Following the format of their 2000 road shows, the band will begin with an acoustic set with songs from their recent and elegantly beautiful EP The Blue Trees, followed by a full electric set featuring songs from throughout their 10 year history including selections from the forthcoming album.
Some of the tracks on How I Long To Feel That Summer may be Easy Love Tough Jazz, My Honey, Christina, Honeymoon With You (featuring vocals by Teenage Fanclub’s Norman Blake), Her Hair Hangs Long, and Dead Aid. | Gorky's Zygotic Mynci | | GZM on Mantra Recordings | | GZM on Beggars Banquet | | The Blue Trees review on Rockbites | | discography | | top of page |
