loudENERGY starts incorporating Riffage artists, songs

Twelve-person Newport Beach, California based artist development company loudENERGY acquired the assets of failed Palo Alto, California music/entertainment startup Riffage back in April. They have now started incorporating Riffage’s 20,000 artist band pages, uploaded songs, and other electronic assets onto their Web site.
loudENERGY hopes the move will help bring it toward profitability, but competitors such as All Indie are skeptical. All Indie CEO Tom Chernaik told Wired Magazine in April “Buying names and bands come pretty cheap these days. I think this could be a bad move because it’s hard to do anything with just the users’ names and the bands.”
To publicize the effort and to incite former Riffage bands to participate, loudENERGY has launched a contest where to enter you simply register for their email newsletter. Grand prize is US$1,000.
If you’re an artist who uploaded songs to Riffage and want to increase the liklihood of getting those songs reviewed for record deal consideration, submit the titles on loudENERGY’s Riffage page (check our link). | loudENERGY | | Riffage page on loudENERGY | | Riffage contest | | top of page |
