Teenage Fanclub release single, announce North Am dates
29 June 2001

Scottish pop masters Teenage Fanclub—who are blessed with three songwriters any one of whom could power a band—have just set dates for a short North American tour starting 10 July at the 9:30 Club in Washington, DC. They’ll play just seven shows before heading back to the UK where they’re set to play the annual Reading and Leeds festivals in late August.
The band’s 2000 masterpiece Howdy! is still not available domestically in North America, despite major label backing and continuing very strong sales in Europe. (You can order it directly from Amazon UK, saving money over the import price charged by American outlets.)
On 18 June Teenage Fanclub released for the UK a new single from the album, Dumb Dumb Dumb written by Norman Blake. It’s backed with two non-album tracks, Thaw Me (by Raymond McGinley) and One Thousand Lights (by Gerard Love).
Teenage Fanclub’s US/Canada tour dates are

July
10 - Washington, DC (9:30 Club)
11 - Philadelphia, PA (Theatre of Living Arts)
12 - New York city, NY (Bowery Ballroom)
15 - Toronto, ON (Opera House)
17 - Chicago, IL (Metro)
19 - West Hollywood, CA (Troubadour)
20 - San Francisco, CA (Slim’s)
