Rollins Band new LP Yellow Blues to benefit SPLC
28 June 2001

LA’s Rollins Band, the collaboration between former Black Flag vocalist Henry Rollins and Mother Superior, recorded enough material during their sessions for Get Some Go Again to put out a double album. Instead they released a single CD and saved the rest for B sides, alternate releases, and some for a new album titled Yellow Blues which incorporates all of the tracks that didn’t appear on last year’s debut.
The set runs 64 minutes and includes the Ben Grosse remix of Illumination, every extra track from the various international versions of Get Some Go Again, and more. Rollins has chosen to release the CD himself, making it available only from his 2.13.61 publications Web site. And as he did for the recent Rollins Band live album A Clockwork Orange Stage, recorded at last year’s Roskilde Festival, one dollar from each disc sold goes to the Montgomery, Alabama based Southern Poverty Law Center, a nonprofit organization dedicated to combating hate and intolerance.
On 21 August Rollins Band release an entirely new CD to be titled Nice, itself to be followed by a second disc collecting additional tracks from the sessions. | 2.13.61 | | Henry Rollins | | Southern Poverty Law Center | | discography | | top of page |
