Lowgold playing Switzerland’s St. Gallen Festival

Bournemouth, England rock balladeers Lowgold, who count Neil Young, Jeff Buckley, Alex Chilton, and Teenage Fanclub among their primary influences (which is all you need to know about why they’ll remind you of Coldplay), released their debut album Just Backward Of Square in February for the UK on Nude Records. The band will hit the European festival circuit this summer, starting with an appearance Saturday at The St. Gallen (Switzerland) Open Air Festival. Now in its 25th year, St. Gallen runs Friday through Sunday and will also feature Goldfinger, David Gray, Guano Apes, Ben Harper, Hothouse Flowers, Wyclef Jean, Millencolin, Placebo, Roni Size and Reprazent, Toploader, and several others.
Next up for Lowgold will be shows at Belgium’s Dour Festival on 6 July, the Summer Sundae Festival in Leicester, England on the 8th, a one-off at Yale College in Wrexham on the 9th, and performances at the Leeds and Reading Festivals on 24 and 26 August.
Lowgold’s debut, although recently repackaged and now distributed in Europe through PIAS (Play It Again Sam), is still available in the US only as an expensive import.
