The White Stripes on tour in advance of 3rd LP
21 June 2001

Detroit blues punk duo The White Stripes (siblings Jack and Meg White) are set to release their third album for US indie label Sympathy For The Record Industry, White Blood Cells. Due 3 July for the US, they recorded the 16 track set in Memphis this year with producer/musician Doug Easley (Pavement, Sonic Youth, The Amps). It follows last year’s De Stijl, and 1999’s self-titled debut.
The White Stripes began a major US tour last night in Providence, Rhode Island, continuing through 12 August for a closer at the Bug Jar Outdoor Festival in Rochester, New York. They’re selling their new CD at the shows. For most of the dates they’ll play with Von Bondis and fellow Detroiters The Waxwings. | The White Stripes | | fan site | | tour dates | | bio | | discography | | CD | | top of page |
