Seattle sound collage/absurdist duo The Bran Flakes have just released their second album, the 70+ minute I Don’t Have A Friend, on Lomo Records. It follows their 1999 debut Hey Won’t Somebody Come And Play, released on Ovenguard Music. The band (Mr. Otis F. Odder and Sir Mildred Pitt) have posted seven full length MP3 music files from the new album, available on the Sounds page of their Web site—which also has nine MP3s from their debut LP.
On 16 June, The Bran Flakes play the 7th Annual Olympia Experimental Music Fest to be held at Olympia World News. Also performing will be Evolution Control Committee, Steve Fisk, Gang Wizard, The Glamorous Pat, Jennifer Robin, Big Tom the Lithuanian, Gang Wizard, and Dead Air Fresheners w/ C Swaim.
You can get The Bran Flakes’ new album direct from their Web site, at Other Music online, or at enlightened record shops. | The Bran Flakes | | Lomo Records | | Ovenguard Records | | Other Music | | bio | | discography | | top of page |
