American Steel announce US dates for Jagged Thoughts

UPDATE - San Francisco-Oakland punk/soul/lo-fi quartet American Steel (the band go by first names only, thank you: Ruairi on vocals and guitar, Ryan on guitar and vocals, John on bass and vocals, Jamie on drums) played a record release show Monday night in San Francisco for their new album Jagged Thoughts.
    They head out on a major US tour this weekend with an in store performance at Streetlight Records in San José followed by a show at Koos Café in Santa Ana, California. The tour runs through mid August with a closer at Emo’s in Austin, Texas. Most dates will be with Chicago pop-punk trio Lawrence Arms, who released a new album of their own in May titled Present Day Memories.
    American Steel’s Jagged Thoughts follows nearly three years on from their 1999 Lookout! debut Rogue’s March, their second LP but their first widely available. The new set benefits from some musical maturity without any dulling of the band’s emotional edge.
