Tweaker readies new EP, concept album
20 July 2001

Programmer, producer, and one time Nine Inch Nails drummer Chris Vrenna aka Tweaker is set to release a new EP and a new album next month on Six Degrees Records. Both feature guest appearances by composer/singer David Sylvian (one time front man for Japan and a frequent collaborator with Robert Fripp).
The new studio full length is a concept piece titled The Attraction To All Things Uncertain. Back in 1999, Vrenna was inspired by a simple, poignant, and fascinating painting by Joe Sorren titled Elliot’s Attraction To All Things Uncertain—a detail of which serves as the album cover artwork. The LP is a musical biography of the fictional Elliot.
Also playing on the album are Will Oldham (Palace, Palace Brothers, Bonnie 'Prince' Billy) and Craig Wedren (Shudder To Think). Missing in action, apparently, is Wayne Kramer, former guitarist with pre-punk legends The MC5. Two years ago Kramer sat in with Vrenna for the original sessions for TATATU. Almo Recordings had expected to release the set in 1999, but deals fell through.
The forthcoming EP features six remixes of the album track Linoleum, including one by Paul Leary of The Butthole Surfers. It comes available for the US on 21 August; the album a week later. | Tweaker (coming soon) | | Joe Sorren | | Fan site | | discography | | CD | | top of page |
