Rival Schools to release split with onelinedrawing 13 July 2001 Rival Schools debut album United By Fate, produced by Luke Ebbin (Crush, Bon Jovi, Splender), appears 28 August for the US on Island/Def Jam, delayed from a previously announced street date of 31 July. Rival Schools comprises guitarist/ vocalist Walter Schreifles (also in Pearl Harbor, formerly in Gorilla Biscuits, Youth of Today, Quicksand), drummer Sam Siegler (Gorilla Biscuits, Youth of Today, CIV), bassist Cache Tolman (CIV, Iceburn), and guitarist Ian Love (Burn, Die 116). The upcoming material is distinctly more pop and radio friendly than previous work by the bands members, but comes across pretty rockin anywaycheck out our sample link. Meanwhile, Jonah Matranga (onelinedrawing) last month finished recording the debut album with his new quartet New End Original in Maryland. The band features Chuck Walker (ex Split Lip) and Norm Arenas and Scott Winegard (ex Texas Is The Reason).
