764-HERO sign to Tiger Style for new album
13 July 2001
image
Last month Seattle grunge pop trio 764-HERO signed to New York city based Tiger Style records for their fourth full length, having left Seattle’s UP Records.
The band (founders John Atkins and Polly Johnson-Dickinson along with James Bertram, also in Red Stars Theory) are writing songs now and expect to record the album this fall, with a street date for the record perhaps as early as spring 2002. Tiger Style says that 764-HERO will 'tour extensively' to support the release; their official fan site reports that Polly told them the band are hoping to tour Europe and Japan as well as North America.
In the mean time, the trio have a couple of local area dates planned for next month, both with fellow Tiger Style artist, San Diego five piece Tristeza—whose second album is due in September. The shows are 9 August at Graceland in Seattle and 10 August at Dante’s in Portland.
Up Records still offers three full length MP3 song files from 764-HERO’s 2000 album Weekends Of Sound. We’ve provided a direct link for one. | 764-Hero (official fan site) | | Tiger Style | | Without Fire (full length MP3) | | Tristeza | | bio | | discography | | top of page |
