Pocket For Corduroy in studio for new EP (update)
12 July 2001

UPDATE (original story 10 July) Nevada City, California four piece Pocket For Corduroy start recording sessions for a six track EP this week in their own studio. The forthcoming disc, likely to be available only directly from the band’s Web site, will be their first new material since their shockingly good 'four song demo EP' released in 1998—when the members were all still in their teens. That EP is still available in limited quantity.
Pocket For Corduroy (guitarists/vocalists Dan Elkan and Andrew Hogson, who’ve been playing music together since they were 8; drummer Peter Newsom; and bassist Thad Stoenner) make varied music that goes well with the likes of Fugazi as well as Doves. At a recent show at the Los Gatos Outhouse their performance riveted the mostly high-school aged audience. We have to say that PFC are the real deal: understated demeanor and delivery coupled with a preternatural musicality. No shit, we were blown away.
So if there’s some fairness in the music business, or much more likely, if the right accident happens at the right moment, you’ll be hearing a lot more from these guys.
PFC have just announced dates for a summer tour of California, most shows with The Mercury Program and The Firebird Band

27 - Riverside (The Noise Attic)
29 - San Diego (The Casbah)
