9 January 2001

Duluth, Minnesota slo-core trio Low have announced touring dates through March including stops in the US, Canada, Scandinavia, Germany, Czech Republic, Belgium, The Netherlands, France, England, and Ireland. Then in May the band head to Tokyo for two shows. They’re supporting their new studio album Things We Lost In The Fire, recorded last year with Chicago-based musician/producer Steve Albini (Big Black, The Pixies, Nine Inch Nails, Wire).
Indie label Kranky releases the set on 6 February for the US, and has posted MP3 clips of four songs on their Web site: Sunflower, Dinosaur Act, Like A Forest, and Don’t Carry It All—the latter one of two bonus tracks available only on the LP version.
Low—Alan Sparhawk (vocals, guitar, keyboards), Mimi Parker (vocals, percussion), and Zak Sally (bass, keyboards)—taped a show with legendary DJ John Peel while in England this past fall. You can hear the entire 44 minute broadcast, featuring tracks from the new album, in RealAudio on demand by clicking our link. | Low | | tour dates | | Peel Session audio feed | | bio | | discography | | sample | | top of page |
