Mogwai reveal name of third album, play new material 24 January 2001 A spokesperson at Matador whos had a chance to hear some of the work in progress said ...I have a feeling this may become the most beautiful album Ive ever heard (if not, as the band are calling it, The Most Expensive Post-Rock Album In History). Mogwai seem to be expanding their loud/soft guitarscapes into a symphonic sound based around guitar & piano but augmented with voice (yes, vocals), strings, brass, etc. and with a much more mature sense of dynamics. Mogwai have also just announced their first show for 2001, a one-off in Reykjavik, Iceland at Gaukurinn Hall on 14 March. It will be the first public exposure of their new material. Three new songs apparently not on the forthcoming albumUntitled, Quiet Stereo Dee, and Arundelare available on a strictly limited edition EP published as part of the Travels In Constants series. Normally available only by subscriptionand last years series is long sold outthe Mogwai store (available on their Web site) will be selling a few of the EPs starting sometime in the very near future. | Mogwai | | Gaukurinn Hall | | Temporary Residence/Travels In Constants | | discography | | sample | | top of page | |
