The second full length by German electronica jazz/pop trio Kante (English: Edge) is titled Zweilicht (English: second light). Produced by Tobias Levin (To Rococo Rot, Go Plus, Surrogat, Capt. Kirk), it came out worldwide last week on EFA/Caroline for North America and on Kitty-Yo in the UK and Europe. The new, atmospheric seven track set follows Kante’s 1997 debut Zwischen Den Orten and their 1998 remix LP Redirections.
Kante are Andreas Krane on bass, Peter Thiessen (bassist with Blumfeld) on guitar & vocals, and Sebastian Vogel (drummer with Laub) on drums & electronics. Guests on Zweilicht include Blumfeld keyboards player Michael Mühlhaus and Sport guitarist Felix Müller, along with a 14 piece chamber orchestra with horns.
