Detroit based performance collective NPFC (Nineteen Point Five Collective), who incorporate live music, 3D modeling/animation, Web design, and realtime and recorded audio and video production into live shows that are never the same twice, begin a monthly series in the Burns Room at St. Andrews Hall in Detroit on Friday 9 March. Titled STNR (Signal To Noise Ratio), the series will include live performances by NPFC as well as by guests, plus DJ sets.
The premier STNR show, a week from this Friday, will feature sets from NPFC and Detroit hip-hop artists Calloway. Then on 6 April NPFC will host Chicago artists National Wrecking Company and TRS-80. Doors open at 10 pm. For more information call +1 313-961-MELT.
Submethod, a larger collective which incorporates NPFC, will perform at the Online Flash Film Festival in Barcelona, Spain the first week of May. Also performing during the festival’s so-called 'Desert section' will be Goem, Radboud, James Plotkin, Aix Em Klemm, Stars Of The Lid, Philosopher’s Stone, Loscil, Ekkehard Ehlers, Kozo Inada, and others. The OFFF is accepting noncommercial, short film submissions in Flash and Director formats through the end of March; see their site for details.
Live/electronic trio TRS-80, meanwhile, have scheduled shows on 16 March at Chicago’s Double Door (with Stereotypes, DJ Hamster & Bunny Hug, and Manplanet) and on 3 May at High Dive in Champaign, Illinois—in addition to their 6 April performance at STNR. | NPFC | | TRS-80 | | Calloway | | Online Flash Film Festival | | top of page |
