H3llb3nt release second LP, will tour
23 February 2001

Coldwave supergroup H3llb3nt (Hellbent, if you’re not dyslexic, or if you want to do a search on CDnow or Amazon) earlier this month released their third album for North America on Invisible Records. Hardcore Vanilla follows 1998’s remix LP Helium and their 1996 debut 0.01—also known simply as 'Hellbent'. You can find Hardcore Vanilla as an import in the UK, Europe, and Australia.
Started five years ago by Haloblack’s Bryan Black and 16Volt’s Eric Powell, this time ’round the band’s guests include a hardcore techno superstar cast with members of Chemlab (Jared Louche) and My Life With The Thrill Kill Kult (Charles Levi), both of whom worked on 0.01; plus members of Sow (Anna Wildsmith), Pig (Raymond Watts), Sheep On Drugs (Lee Fraser), The Damage Manual (Martin Atkins), and others. Contributing coughs, according to the liner notes, is London-based engineer/techno artist, Pigface vocalist, and Rockbites fave Meg Lee Chin.
For more cold, grinding techno, you can check out the new collection from the late Chemlab, titled Suture, featuring remixes by KMFDM. Tracks include the long out-of-print Ten Ton Pressure EP.
    H3llb3nt plan to tour this year in support of Hardcore Vanilla. We’ll post details as we get them. | H3llb3nt | | Haloblack | | 16Volt | | Suture by Chemlab (CD) | | discography | | CD | | top of page |
