Sparklehorse third album due in the spring
2 February 2001
image
Details remain scarce, but Rockbites expects the third full length (not yet titled) from Mark Linkous’ psychedelic folk-rock project Sparklehorse to finally hit the street this spring on Capitol Records. Last April we reported that Linkous and Scott Minor (the band’s other permanent member) were holed up at Dave Fridmann’s Cassadaga, New York studio, which has produced exceptional albums from, among others, Mogwai, Mercury Rev, and The Flaming Lips.
The new album, co-produced with PJ Harvey collaborator and soundtrack composer John Parish, features PJ Harvey on seven songs (she plays guitar and piano as well as sings), plus musical contributions by Parish, Portishead’s Adrian Utley, The Cardigans’ Nina Persson, and Tom Waits. | Sparklehorse | | John Parish interview | | bio | | discography | | top of page |
