The Ladybug Transistor ready third album for May
2 February 2001
image
Brooklyn retro-orchestral pop act (at various times a quartet, quintet, or sextet) The Ladybug Transistor have just about finished work on their long awaited third album, to be titled Argyle Heir. It’s due 22 May on Merge Records, and follows 1995’s Marlborough Farms and 1997’s Beverley Atonale.
Over the past four years, fans who’ve taken the time to look have gotten a few obscure treats by the band. Last July TLT covered The Velvet Underground’s I Found A Reason on the Japanese-only July 2000 double CD Rapid Chords 002: VU Tribute (available in the US from Forced Exposure), and the single Brighton Bound (b/w a non-album version of Cienfuegos/Cicada Sonata) released on Spain’s Elefant Records, also last year. | The Ladybug Transistor | | The Ladybug Transistor on Merge | | Forced Exposure | | Elefant Records | | bio | | discography | | top of page |
