Kleenex/Liliput double CD out next week
13 February 2001

Swiss wave pioneers Liliput, who called themselves Kleenex until 1980 when a lawsuit changed their minds, broke up in 1983 after winning fans throughout Europe, the UK, and the US. Now Olympia, Washington indie label Kill Rock Stars is releasing a double-CD compilation containing, they say, every scrap of material released by Kleenex/Liliput, all long out of print. It’s due in stores next week.
The core of the mostly female band (Rudolph Dietrich played guitar in the original lineup) was guitarist/ vocalist Marlene Marder, bassist/ vocalist Klaudia Schifferle, and drummer/ bassist/ vocalist Lislot Hafner—although through the years the roster evolved regularly. You can find a complete discography and history of lineup changes on the Swiss 'punk-wave' site, but you’ll need to click around because they disallow direct links.
Besides publishing the compilation on CD, KRS has posted two full length MP3 files for free download, Ain’t You from Kleenex circa 1978, and Etoile from Liliput circa 1983. | interview on Perfect Sound Forever ezine | | punk-wave site | | Ain't You (full length MP3) | | Etoile (full length MP3) | | CD | | top of page |
