Gwendolyn previews new songs during Cali dates

Twenty-five year old Sierra Madre, California singer/songwriter Gwendolyn Sanford aka Gwendolyn released her debut, limited edition album Ultrasounds last year after teaming up with LA strange one Brandon Jay aka Quazar (front man for Quazar And The Bamboozled). The album chronicles five years of recordings in New York city, Hoboken, various Cali locales, and elsewhere. It also shows off Gwendolyn’s musical range, from ear warping, key shifting, Syd Barrett’s sister psychedelic folk ballads (Drain, Bungalow Babies) to quirky dance (Calico) to twee pop ditties (Freedom Of The Heart, featured in the 2000 Miguel Arteta film Chuck And Buck).
At recent shows in Sunnyvale and San Francisco, California, Gwendolyn showed off four new songs: Somebody Else’s Man, Dark Mind, Coo Coo For You, and Lady Strange. She put them to tape a couple of weeks ago at Xiu Xiu front man Jamie Stewart’s Fort Awesome studio, and expects to release them as part of a new album in the not too distant future.

For now you can pick up the CD only at shows.
