Luna sign to Jetset Records for first LP in 3 years 7 December 2001 It will be the bands first studio album since 1999s Days Of Our Nights, one which gave them endless trouble. Elektra Records distributed the album to US radio stations and reviewers but then unceremoniously dropped the band and the album before releasing it. Luna then hopped to Jericho/Sire who did release Days Of Our Nights for the US, but have since let it go out of print. You can still pick it up from retailers outside the US such as Amazon UK. Lunas 1995 album Penthouse, named by Rolling Stone magazine as one of the essential albums of the 90s, is thankfully still in print worldwide. Lunas new album features a new lineup of which Dean Wareham (founder of Galaxie 500) is the only original member. Others in the band these days are longtime member Sean Eden (Kramer, Muttongun, Dogbowl, The Weeds of Eden) along with Lee Wall (The Weeds of Eden) and Britta Phillips (ex Belltower, Ultrababyfat). Well bring you a review of Lunas Romantica closer to the time it comes out. Luna recently toured Brazil and are now back in the States playing here and there. You can catch them this month on the 28th at The Middle East in Cambridge, Massachusetts; and on New Years Eve at The Knitting Factory in New York city. | Luna | | Jetset Records | | Days Of Our Nights from Amazon UK | | discography | | sample | | top of page | |
