The Music set dates for January tour, plan second EP
6 December 2001

The Music, a young, four piece aggressive guitar band from the Kippax suburb of Leeds, England, formed a couple of years ago while its members were in school—partly as a reaction to the accelerating trend toward the introspective, slow, and quiet in the indie world. Still without an album, the British press is already all over them as candidates for the next big thing.
A month ago The Music (originally named Insense) released their UK debut EP You Might As Well Try To Fuck Me (produced by Lenny Franchi, who’s manned the controls for the likes of Björk, Curve, Garbage, Tricky, and Wire), and just last night the band appeared on the prestigious Steve Lamacq Evening Session show on BBC radio 1.
The Music are frontman Rob Harvey, guitarist Adam Nutter, bassist Stuart Coleman, and drummer Phil Jordan. They have just revealed that they’re working on new material in preparation to record a second EP early in the new year. They have also just expanded their January tour of Europe. Dates are

January
11 - Groningen (Eurosonic Fest)
12 - Brussels (Rotonde at The Botanique)
14 - Paris (La Boule Noire)
15 - Renne (L’Ubu)
17 - Milan (Rolling Stone)
18 - Munich (Atomic Cafe)
19 - Berlin (Karrera Club)
20 - Rotterdam (Rotown)
21 - Amsterdam (Paradiso)
