Teenage Fanclub team with Jad Fair for studio album
6 December 2001

Glasgow art pop geniuses Teenage Fanclub have teamed once again with minimalist/dadaist singer/songwriter Jad Fair, this time for a full length collaboration to be released 22 January for North America only, on Jello Biafra’s Alternative Tentacles imprint.
The artists recorded the songs over multiple sessions in Glasgow this year, and finished mastering in October. Alternative Tentacles will release the set, titled Words Of Wisdom And Hope, on vinyl and CD.
Teenage Fanclub’s most recent (and stunningly affecting) album, Howdy, was finally released this week in North America on Thirsty Ear, having been out since October of 2000 on Sony in the rest of the world. Jad Fair’s current project, Strobe Talbot, will release the LP 20 Pop Songs on 18 December in the US. Fair is best known as founder of Half Japanese, formed in Washington, DC in the late ’70s and still active.
