The White Stripes charity bootleg is UK only for now

Overwhelmed by demand and so far without a means to process international orders, Richard Rooney now asks that no-one outside the UK place orders for his three White Stripes bootleg CDs (see our story from yesterday). As we mentioned, the band have endorsed the bootlegs as proceeds are going to the Save The Children charity.
Rooney writes “I have asked the White Stripes website coordinator to remove mention of this page until we get everything sorted out. I am getting a flood of emails from people in the States and I’m sure the vast majority heard about this page by visiting www.whitestripes.com. Until I can confirm US orders are possible, I don’t want to string any more people along.

“The White Stripes and their people have been extremely supportive of this idea and I want to thank them. Hopefully we can make this work—because they have proved beyond any doubt that they are a very special band. Their willingness to see others benefit from their music is very refreshing.”

The charity bootlegs notice and URL are now gone from The White Stripe’s Website. As soon as Rooney announces international order processing (assuming, of course, that it will eventually happen) we’ll let you know. | Booteg info | | The White Stripes | | Save The Children | | top of page |
