Bonfire Madigan land on their feet, record third album
19 December 2001
image
Madigan Shive, leader of San Francisco chamber pop collective Bonfire Madigan, was evicted earlier this year so the owner could take over the residence. It happened in the midst of the bay area’s ongoing artistic downturn, as clubs and studio spaces close and artists leave the city. Loyal to the SF arts scene and wanting to remain part of it, Shive even resorted to auctioning one of her prized guitars.
We’re pleased to report that Shive and her band have landed on their feet in a new home including a rehearsal space. They’re busy writing songs for their third album and expect to release it sometime in 2002.
In the meantime, you can catch Bonfire Madigan playing over the next few months in and around San Francisco. The dates are

December
21 - Berkeley (924 Gilman)

January
12 - Oakland (The Crucible)

February
7 - San Francisco (The Depot at SF State University)
