The White Stripes charity bootlegs endorsed by band
18 December 2001

Front man Jack White of Detroit blues punk duo The White Stripes over the weekend endorsed the sale of three bootleg CDs from a UK fan who is forwarding proceeds to the Save The Children charity.
One Richard Rooney had an idea to kill two birds with one stone, and it seems to be working. He says he was sick and tired of greed-based trading of White Stripes bootlegs on auction sites such as eBay, and wanted to help a worthwhile charity. So he put together three high quality (for bootlegs) discs of White Stripes live performances broadcast this year by the BBC, is selling them for a very nominal charge, and is forwarding all proceeds after expenses to Save The Children.
Going simply as CD 1, CD 2, and CD 3, among them the bootlegs contain both White Stripes Peel Sessions complete, the Steve Lamacq Live tracks, the audio from the band’s appearance on the Later With Jools Holland television show, the radio edit broadcast of their London Forum concert, and more.
Rooney is already a bit overwhelmed by the response, and is still working out some pricing and ordering details. For more information, check our links. | Bootleg info | | Richard Rooney | | The White Stripes | | Save The Children | | top of page |
