The Aislers Set to record third album next month
14 December 2001

San Francisco twee pop geniuses The Aislers Set have announced they’ll start recording their third full length at the end of January. It follows last year’s The Last Match and their 1998 debut Terrible Things Happen.
The sessions will begin after they play an already-sold-out show on 16 January at San Francisco’s Great American Music Hall supporting Sleater-Kinney—who are pleasantly back in action early after announcing in October 2000 that they’ll be taking a two year break. Sleater-Kinney play tonight and tomorrow night at the Showbox in Seattle, then play four west coast shows in January.
The Aislers Set, meanwhile, plan to stage a southwestern US tour in March 2002. Stay tuned for details.
Finally, we hear that The Aislers Set will have a previously unreleased song on the upcoming Kill Rock Stars double-CD compilation album, due May 2002. Other bands on the set, which will include nothing but previously unreleased tracks, are The Butchies, C Average, Neko Case, Gene Defcon, Mecca Normal, Stereo Total, Mary Timony, Two Ton Boa, and many others. | The Aislers Set | | Sleater-Kinney on KRS | | bio | | discography | | top of page |
