Slumber Party release 2nd album, post MP3

Detroit psychedelic folk rock four piece Slumber Party (Aliccia Berg, Gretchen Gonzales, Marcie Bolen, and Leigh Sabo) today release their second album, Psychedelicate, for the US on Kill Rock Stars records. They’ve also just posted a full length MP3 audio file of the album track Soldier (check our link).
    Last year Alan McGee’s Poptones label (which he formed after selling Creation to Sony) picked up the band’s debut for UK distribution. We expect they’ll do the same for Psychedelicate later this year.
    The new LP follows Slumber Party’s self titled debut by precisely one year, give or take a day. The band recorded it this spring at Detroit’s Ghetto Recorders studio with producer Jim Diamond (The White Stripes, The Von Bondies, Stroker Ace, The Go). Tracks are Bag Of Spiders, Never Again, Soldier, Everyone Else I Know, My Little One, Heroes And Zeros, You’ve Gone Too Far, I’m Not Sad, Sometimes, I Never Dreamed, and Depression Is Best.
    Slumber Party play the CMJ Music festival on 15 September at North Six in Brooklyn, New York for a KRS showcase with Bangs, C Average, and Tight Bro’s From Way Back When. The gals then hit the road for a major US tour 22 October to 16 November, with venues to be announced. Stay tuned.
