The Pattern blast onto UK, US scenes
23 August 2001
image
Oakland, California garage-psychedelic-blues-punk five-piece The Pattern are in the UK playing a short tour heading up to performances at the Reading and Leeds festivals tomorrow and Saturday, after which they continue with more shows in England and Ireland before returning for a handful of Cali dates supporting Black Rebel Motorcycle Club and a reunited X.
The Pattern are promoting their June singles collection Immediately, out in the UK on the Web-based Witchita Recordings label—a spinoff, like Poptones, from the legendary and previously-indie Creation Records.
Immediately gets a US release, with different cover art, 25 September on Lookout! Records—the label whose president happens to be The Pattern’s master of mayhem and lead vocalist Christopher Appelgren.
Something of an SF Bay Area punk supergroup, The Pattern are Appelgren (ex PeeChees) along with Andy Asp (Nuisance) on guitar, Jason Rosenberg (St. James Infirmary) also on guitar, Carson Bell (Cutz) on bass, and Jim Anderson (Blackfork) on Drums.
Rosenberg started the band a year ago on a lark, but the buzz they’ve generated has propelled them into making it their primary musical project.
Check our link for an MP3 of one of the songs from the EP. You can get two more songs online free from the Wichita site.
