Firewater stage US tour for Psychopharmacology

New York city based critic’s faves Firewater released their very well received third LP Psychopharmacology in April. Following three years on from The Ponzi Scheme, it promptly hit the top 10 on the CMJ (US college radio) charts.
    Cop Shoot Cop bassist Tod A (Tod Ashley) founded Firewater in 1995. As front man he covers lead vocals, writes the songs, and plays melotron as well as bass. The band’s ever evolving lineup currently includes Oren Kaplan (Botanica) on guitars; Paul Wallfisch (also of Botanica) on keyboards; and Tamir Muskat (formerly in Israeli band Izabo & NYC band Big Lazy) on percussion.
    Psychopharmacology features a slew of guests including Elysian Fields vocalist Jennifer Charles, and former Lounge Lizards multi-instrumentalist (and Elysian Fields co-founder) Oren Bloedow on sitar.
    Firewater returned to the US a couple of weeks ago from some dates in Switzerland playing the 26th edition of the Paléo open air festival in Nyon, near Geneva. They have now revealed dates for a US tour starting next month:
