Seaworthy, solo project from Macha’s Josh McKay
20 August 2001
image
Josh McKay, guiding light of Eastern-tinged Athens, Georgia dronerock band Macha, has changed tack once again with a solo project he calls Seaworthy. Heavily electronic and vertigo inducing, with dreamy & soporific vocals, the 10 track set will appear the first week of October in the US on Jetset Records.
McKay’s guests on the new LP, to be titled The Ride, include Japanese vocalist/multi-instrumentalist Haco—previously in Osaka experimental bands After Dinner and Hoahio—on vocals, and Josh’s brother Mischo—co-founder of Macha, and who also played with him in Emperor Moth—on drums.
Look forward to a Rockbites review of The Ride in late September. | Jetset Records | | Macha on Jetset | | Macha/Bedhead concert video | | top of page |
