Belle & Sebastian announce dates for US, Canada, Brazil

Tickets went on sale yesterday for a handful of US and Canada west coast performances next month by Glasgow retro pop songsters Belle & Sebastian. It’s their first stateside visit since their premiere US tour in the fall of 1998.
    They’ve also announced a pair of festival dates for Brazil in October, playing the two city Free Jazz Festival.
    This weekend, at the 7th annual Festival Internacional De Benicàssim in Spain, Belle & Sebastian will perform for the first time as an 8-piece since last year’s departure of Stuart David, now devoting his time to writing and to his band Looper. Bobby Kildea (V-Twin, The Reindeer Section) took his place last month.

6 - Los Angeles (Wiltern Theatre)
8-9 - San Francisco (The Warfield)
11 - Portland (Roseland Theatre)
13 - Vancouver (Croatian Cultural Centre)
14 - Seattle (Moore Theatre)

October
26 - Rio De Janiero (Museum Of Modern Art)
27 - Sao Paulo - (Jockey Club)
