Bright Eyes to play UK, Ireland, Scandinavia, US dates

20 year old Nebraska born singer/songwriter Conor Oberst, aka Bright Eyes, starts a northern European tour on 24-25 August with appearances at England’s Reading and Leeds festivals. He goes from there on a week-long tour of Scandinavia and Ireland.
    Then on 7 September he’ll be back in the States for a few shows, all with fellow Nebraskan Simon Joyner who released his cinematically evocative full-length Hotel Lives in June (check our tour listing, below).
    New York city based Webcaster The Digital Club Network, a collective of more than 50 alternative music venues worldwide, has now posted three archived Bright Eyes concerts for free viewing and listening (although you must first register, providing your email address and some personal info). Included are performances from July and November of last year at Athens, Georgia’s 40 Watt Club, plus a show from May 2000 at Brownies in New York.
    Bright Eyes’ latest US release is a collaboration/split CD with Son, Ambulance (singer/songwriter Joe Knapp, drummer Jeff Koster, and bassist Landon Hedges), released this past January. Oberst released his new single Drunk Kid Catholic in May in the UK with backing tracks February 15th and I Have Been Eating For You.
