Hope Sandoval & The Warm Inventions reveal debut LP
14 August 2001

Dark princess Hope Sandoval, the otherworldly voice of LA’s legendary Mazzy Star, has just revealed that her new band The Warm Inventions will release their debut album in late October simultaneously in the US and the UK. It follows last November’s UK-only four song EP At The Doorway Again and will be titled Bavarian Fruit Bread.
The Warm Inventions—originally conceived as a Sandoval side project while Mazzy Star were working on a new album for Rough Trade—are primarily a duo of Sandoval with ex-My Bloody Valentine drummer Colm O’Ciosoig (later with Clear Spot). The pair toured together in June of 2000 as a re-formed Mazzy Star along with Sandoval’s original partner, guitarist David Roback—but the pre-announced new Mazzy Star album has not come to pass, while The Warm Inventions project has blossomed. More details soon.
